Snapchat debuted on the App Store in 2011, but the native app was only released for iPhones, not iPads. So, you need to use the iPhone version of the app, which will show black bars around the sides to make the screen fit into the iPad. Also, display limitations were imposed as iPad screens are bigger than iPhones. After 13 years, Snapchat resolved this issue through a new update, releasing the native app for iPad in the App Store.
Snapchat will now fit into a full screen on an iPad, making it easy to capture snaps with a large canvas. You can view more friends on the second and fourth tabs. It helps users who love editing a lot. You can now easily add stickers, text, and music as they appear on the sides of the screen. The app leaves the screen clear so you can make editing hassle-free.
Apart from that, it does not include new changes for iPads, so you won’t see a major difference on your device. You can view more stories on a page in rows of three instead of two, as you see on an iPhone.
However, the biggest drawback is that Snapchat can only work in portrait mode, not landscape. Another disadvantage is that it still lacks multi-device support. This means signing in to Snapchat on your iPad will automatically sign out the same account signed in on an iPhone. We hope Snapchat will address these issues and fix them in future updates.
