If you are the owner of a WhatsApp Channel, you have the ability to appoint up to 16 admins at a time to help manage your channel. Admins can handle various tasks such as adding or removing followers, posting or deleting updates, and editing channel details like the icon, description, and name. However, the authority to add or remove admins remains exclusively with the channel owner. This guide demonstrates the steps of adding and managing admins effectively, ensuring your channel runs smoothly.
Important Considerations Before Inviting Admins to Your WhatsApp Channel
As a channel owner, you should ensure a few things before inviting admins to your WhatsApp channel.
- Channel Ownership: Ensure you have created a channel. To do this, open the Updates tab in WhatsApp, tap the Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner, and select Create channel. After following the prompts, set your profile picture, name, and description, then tap Create Channel.
- Privacy: When inviting admins, the invitation will be sent as a WhatsApp message from your personal account, not the channel itself. This means admins will be able to see your phone number.
- Two-Step Verification: It’s recommended that admins enable two-step verification for added security.
- Invitation Expiration: The admin invitation link expires after 7 days if not accepted.
Adding Admins to a WhatsApp Channel
To appoint admins, you can invite followers one by one by selecting Invite as Channel Admin from their profile. If you need to add multiple admins, follow the steps below.
